Social media and brand management: Brand Tags
Picked up an excellent site tip from the Social Media Influence event yesterday (more to come on that). Cheers Matthew Yeomans from Custom Communication.
Brand tags is an experiment to see what people think of brands via a tagging system. The results are then displayed as a cloud.
Like always when trawling social media for brand insights some of the results are expected but the rest could keep you addicted for hours.
A couple of random observations after the jump:
Apple: Look at the association with the word “bite”. Funny for their PR agency (called Bite), I used Trendpedia to double-check it wasn’t all about PR (it wasn’t)
Facebook: “Better than MySpace” is music to a marketers ears (unless you work for MySpace) and on the branding side “Blue” was a biggy as well. All this alongside “Big Brother” which seems related both to privacy and the show.
Absolut: Check out how much impact their advertising is having. I also love a brand which can be both “cheap” and “classy”. (Yes, yes, looking forward to your witty comments…)
