14th October 2008: Half-an-hour day

Half-an-hour day for Growing Ambitions

Half-an-hour day for Growing Ambitions

A little while back I wrote about some of the interesting companies I’d met via Media Trust. One of the organisations I met was Growing Ambitions who are currently organising ”half-an-hour” day on the 14th October.

On this day individuals and businesses are being encouraged to sign up to give one half hour of their time in the next 12 months to help young people near them make more informed career choices.

Go on, it’s only half an hour out of your life to do something nice for today’s ‘yoof’.

Thank you for your comments. The Half an Hour concept is based on being able to give informed career information to young people. Generally, the talk (see website for details) is meant to be an overview with questions and answers because, in our research, we found that this is what young people want.
In an ideal world, we would like a longer than one session committment, however, this is not always possible. Individuals can sign up for more than one session. They are in control of the committment they would like to make.
